Simon Gray, EEEGR
Simon joined EEEGR in June 2012. He has had a baptism of fire in the energy sector, trying to cram knowledge of oil and gas, renewables and nuclear, as well as understanding the main drivers of the supply chain behind these and the skills requirement for the sector. During his tenure at EEEGR, the organisation has undergone a transformation delivering more opportunities for the supply chain, organising events, exhibitions and conferences on a scale not seen before in the region. Simon has also tried to raise the profile of the industry and the region with government, organising House of Commons receptions and ministerial visits. EEEGR operates several special interest groups (SIGs), including Late Life and Decommissioning, Marine, Southern North Sea Rejuvenation and Offshore Wind Supply Chain.
Simon previously worked in the charity sector – primarily health-related at the East Anglian Air Ambulance and Wells Community Hospital where he retains an interest as a trustee of the charity. Earlier in his career, Simon had a strong background in print and digital media development, working for the likes of Archant, Thomsons, United News and Media and Newsquest.
